Retail dealership chain Holiday RV Superstores Inc., which does business as Recreation USA, reports its profit margins on sales during this year’s Florida RV SuperShow were wider than they were during last year’s version of the Tampa show.

“Traffic was good during the show and we were able to achieve significant improvements to our margins, especially finance and insurance, compared with the 2000 show,” said Ron Huneycutt, president and CEO.

Recreation USA occupied the largest amount of booth space at the five-day show, which ended Sunday, Huneycutt said.

At the Tampa show, Recreation USA sold Air Stream- and Four Winds-brand units built by Thor Industries Inc. along with units from Gulf Stream Coach, SMC Corp., King of the Road and Canada’s Glendale.

As a result of the company’s success in Tampa, Huneycutt said January should be one of Recreation USA’s “most profitable recent months, subject to final delivery of the vehicles.”
