Motorhome rental firm El Monte RV now has 15 “licensee” locations to go along with its 12 company-owned operations. Humphreys to get ARC’s Coleman Award

Sterling Debuts Acterra Fifth-wheel Puller

Sterling Truck Corp., a subsidiary of Freightliner LLC, recently introduced the Acterra SportChassis CE, a medium-duty tow vehicle for pulling fifth-wheel travel trailers, horse, boat, race car or custom trailers. The SportChassis CE has a towing capacity of up to 28,000 pounds and can handle trailers as long as 53 feet. It is available through Sterling’s network of Acterra dealers in the U.S. and Canada. Impact of High Fuel Prices Mixed

Harold Wyland, who retired from Patrick Industries Inc. during 1999, was named chairman of the Elkhart, Ind.-based RV/manufactured housing industry supplier/distributor on Tuesday (May 29). Wyland, 64, replaces Mervin Lung, 78, who now is chairman emeritus of the firm he founded in 1959. Wyland was vice president of sales and marketing for Patrick until he retired during 1999. Starcraft Vans Sale Completed

The sale of Starcraft Corp.’s van conversion manufacturing business to Centurion Vehicles Inc. of White Pigeon, Mich., was finalized on Tuesday (May 29). The deal was closed under terms revealed earlier this month. Starcraft Corp. sold its van conversion business in Goshen, Ind., for $1 million in cash and a one-year note.
