Thor Industries Inc. stock reached a new 52-week high today (July 26) for the second day in a row. Thor, which builds transit buses in addition to motorhomes and towable RVs, saw its stock climb to $35.73 a share today before closing at $35.68, up 18 cents. The price of Spartan Motors Inc. stock continued its dramatic climb today (July 25) and Thor Industries Inc. stock also reached a new 52-week high. The stock price of Spartan, a supplier of diesel pusher chassis, broke the $6 a share barrier today. It climbed as high $6.10 a share today before closing at $6.00, up 33 cents. National RV Returns to Profitability

National RV Holdings Inc. reported a marginal profit on a 4% increase in sales during the second quarter. The company earned $126,000 during the three months ended June 30, compared with a profit of $1.7 million earned a year earlier. Monaco Coach Corp. reported its profit margin narrowed dramatically during the second quarter due to competitive wholesale market conditions. The company reports its earnings declined 51% during the three months ended June 30 to $5.5 million while its sales revenue slipped 1% to $223.4 million. The retail sales of towable RVs were down sharply in May, when compared with May 2000, according to Statistical Surveys Inc., an independent market research firm. Here is how the individual product categories performed: Travel trailer sales fell 19.2% to 9,776 units retailed during May. e-commerce firm rvseek Inc. will shift the primary focus of its industry portal, rvseek.com, in August from dealers to campgrounds, according to Matt Dittrich, president of the Bend, Ore., company.
