Forest River Inc., Goshen, Ind., broke ground in September for a new plant in Topeka, Ind., that will allow the company to aggressively market its entry-level Cherokee-brand towabless.

The 100,000-square-foot plant is expected to begin production by the first of next year, according to Doug Gaeddert, general manager of Forest River’s Cedar Creek and Cherokee divisions. It is the second factory of similar size on 80 acres that Forest River owns in Topeka. The sister factory, opened two years ago, builds midpriced Cedar Creek’s towables.

Cherokee production will move from Goshen to the new Topeka plant.

“It was very limited as far as production,” Gaeddert said. “It is going to allow us to add a fiberglass exterior option, for instance. And right now, we are limited on the number of slideouts that we can build. So, the gloves come off and we will be able to get real serious with the Cherokee program.”

Gaeddert said the Cherokee brand will be positioned at the high end of Forest River’s entry-level brands. “We are aiming at being the best value for the buck and the best look for the buck,” Gaeddert said.

I have tried several times to contact someone from your company to let me know the options I might have in replacing the siding on my 2006 Flagstaff 5th wheel. No one has called me to respond to my questions. All I want to know is what options are out there ? Is there another product that can be used to cover the siding? is there a special glue to glue down the bubbles that are forming due to sun damage? I know I am no longer under warrenty. Plese respond to these questions. I would like to speak to a representative if at all possible to discuss my problem and find a facility close that may be able to repair my trailer. My number is – home 909-985-7983 cell 951-217-1855. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Joey Martin
