Gulf Stream Sales Strong

Count Gulf Stream Coach Corp. among the RV manufacturers experiencing strong order volume this spring, said Brian Shea, co-CEO of the Nappanee, Ind.-based firm.
“We have used two million square feet of laminated materials for motorized and towable product year-to-date, compared with one million square feet a year ago,” Shea said. “We have doubled our luxury coach production and our Class C’s are up substantially too.”
Orders for Gulf Stream’s Innsbruck stick & tin travel trailer and fifth-wheel series also is up for the year, Shea added.
Because of the healthy demand, Gulf Stream increased production and it is adding to its dealer body. “We are signing dealers, but we want to add dealers who are committed to servicing and the end user,” Shea said. “In the past, we would have signed any dealer to fill a market.”
Gulf Stream ranked No. 10 last year in Class A motorhomes with a 2.4% retail market share and it was No. 5 in Class C motorhomes with a 7.8% market share, according to independent market research firm Statistical Surveys.
In towables, Gulf Stream ranked No. 9 in the combined travel trailer/fifth-wheel market last year with a 2.2% market share, Statistical Surveys reported.
