FMCA Revenue Exceeded Expenses in ’01

The not-for-profit Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) and its for-profit subsidiary, Family Motor Coaching Inc. (FMCI), report that their combined revenues exceeded their combined expenses by $148,209 during 2001. In contrast, FMCA and FMCI had a combined budget surplus of $1,490,834 in 2000, which was the best year, in terms of finances, in its history, according to Connie Pool, national treasurer. Thor Industries Inc. stock almost reached $70 a share in New York Stock Exchange trading today (May 28). Morgan Group Reports 1Q Loss

Morgan Group Inc., parent of RV, manufactured home and commercial vehicle delivery firms Morgan Drive Away and TDI, reports a net loss of $2.7 million for the first quarter. The American Stock Exchange-listed company’s first quarter loss includes a $2.3 million non-cash charge for goodwill impairment. Several dealers in “Middle Georgia” are reporting sharply higher sales volumes this year, according to The Macon (Ga.) Telegraph. Mid-State RV Center in Byron, Ga., has experienced a 100% increase in motorhome sales this year, said Marvin Humphreys, sales director. Retail sales of travel trailers and fifth-wheels exceeded wholesale shipments during March, reveals a comparison of retail sales data from Statistical Surveys Inc. and wholesale shipments figures from the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA). Thor Industries Inc. reported its third fiscal quarter net earnings increased 147% to a record $16.6 million. Thor Industries Inc. stock climbed above $67 a share for a time today (May 22) after reporting record high earnings for its third fiscal quarter, which ended April 30.
