KFEC South Wing Expansion Delay More Likely

A delay of the expansion of the South Wing of the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center (KFEC) in Louisville appears more likely because Kentucky politicians still have not reached an agreement on a budget for the two-year period beginning Monday (July 1). The Good Sam Club, the world’s largest RV owner’s organization, has created the Welcome Mat Award to recognize businesses that are not in the RV industry but “certainly know how to accommodate and offer good service to RVers,” according to Sue Bray, the Good Sam president. To select the Welcome Mat Award winners, Good Sam members, which total over 1 million, were asked during January and February to name businesses that go out of their way to recognize the needs of RVers. A lethal E.coli outbreak two years ago in the water supply of a Canadian town could eventually affect rural campgrounds across the province of Ontario, campgrounds that have never had any problems with their well water. It’s all about the provincial government’s response to the “Walkerton tragedy,” an incident in May 2000 when a deadly strain of E.coli polluted the drinking water in the town of Walkerton, killing seven people and sickening more than 2,300 others. Foremost Extends Policy Payment Deadlines

RV insurer Foremost Insurance Group, Grand Rapids, Mich., is giving its Colorado customers more time to make their payments because of the severe fires in that state. Foremost is giving its Colorado customers an extra 20 days to make their payments. The extension applies to all types of policies, said Dawn Ray, senior staff underwriter. Great North American RV Rally to Open

Nearly 3,000 RV sites have been reserved for the Great North American RV Rally which opens Friday (June 28) at the Fairplex in Pomona, Calif., about 30 miles east of Los Angeles. The Fairplex is located off I-10 at the White Avenue exit. The 3,000 rigs are expected to account for around 6,000 rally attendees and another 1,000 people are expected to attend each day of the event.
