Robust RV Demand Helps Euramax
Sharply higher order volumes from RV manufacturers in the U.S. helped Euramax International Inc., parent of Amerimax Building Products Inc., achieve record second quarter sales and earnings.
Amerimax supplies aluminum and fiberglass products to RV manufacturers in the U.S.
Euramax, a closely held company that voluntarily discloses its income statements to the public, reported net earnings of $8.6 million during the three months ended June 28, more than three times the $2.5 million it earned a year earlier.
The Norcross, Ga.-based firm earned $10.6 million during the first half of this year, compared with only $372,000 earned during the first half of 2001.
Euramax, which also supplies the European RV industry, reported its total sales increased 9% during the second quarter to $171.7 million. Its sales to customers in the U.S. increased 11% during the April-through-June period.
In addition to higher sales to RV manufacturers in the U.S., Euramax reported sharp increases in sales to distributors, rural contractors and home improvement contractors.
During the first half of this year, Euramax’ total sales revenue increased 5% to $304.6 million.
