RV Travel on an Upsurge in Nevada
There has been an upsurge in RV travel in Nevada this year as indicated by the 60% increase in the number of entries in the Nevada RV Adventure Sweepstakes, according to Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt.
This is the second year for the Nevada sweepstakes and this year’s prize is a Winnebago Brave Class A motorhome valued at $95,000.
So far this year, 13,297 people have entered the Nevada sweepstakes, compared with 8,267 entries during the first eight months of 2001, Hunt reported today (Aug. 29).
Entries can be submitted at 73 locations including Nevada state parks with RV facilities, chambers of commerce and visitors’ centers until Oct. 15.
The winner will be picked by an independent judging organization on or about Nov. 15.
“RV travel in Nevada is more popular than ever and growing steadily because it fits with Nevada’s wide-open spaces and outdoor adventures,” Hunt said. “Motorhomes, campers and other RVs offer freedom to roam, convenience and space to stash recreational gear for Nevada’s adventure attractions.”
RVing is an ideal way to access Nevada’s remote adventure sties for mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing and exploring dramatic desert landscapes, or visiting ghost towns, historic sites, unique festivals and events, the lieutenant governor said.
