Dallas Supershow Dealers Optimistic

Dealers were “very, very pleased” with their sales during the Southwest RV Supershow in Dallas, Sept. 12-15, and they are optimistic about the next four to five years for the industry, said Clark McEwen, executive director of the Texas Recreation Vehicle Association (TRVA). “Bigger, more expensive units (both motorhomes and towables) were moving very well at the show,” he added. It’s been a tough couple of weeks for stock market investors but today (Sept. 26) was a good day for several RV manufacturing company stocks. Product Quality Problems Caused National RV Loss

Quality control problems this summer at the National RV Inc. manufacturing complex in Perris, Calif., are a big reason why its parent company, National RV Holdings Inc., will report a loss for the third quarter, according to Brad Albrechtsen, president and CEO of the holding company. As was widely anticipated, the Federal Reserve decided today (Sept. 24) to leave interest rates unchanged. No action by the Fed. means the benchmark prime rate will remain at 4.75%, its lowest level since 1972.
