Holiday RV Superstores Inc., the retail store chain doing business as Recreation USA, has received a funding commitment from Affinity Group Inc. (AGI) Chairman Steve Adams for a recapitalization intended to restore the company’s compliance with Nasdaq SmallCap market listing requirements. Fleetwood RV Sales Revenue Up 33%

Fleetwood Enterprises Inc.’s RV sales revenue increased by 33% in the second quarter of its fiscal year 2003, which ended Sunday (Oct. 27). The Riverside, Calif. company reported its overall RV sales totaled $396 million in the August-through-October period, compared with $297 million during the same period a year earlier. Holiday RV Superstores Inc., the retail chain doing business as Recreation USA, has restructured its operations by selling its Roseville, Calif., location and consolidating its two Orlando, Fla., metro area locations, according to Marcus Lemonis, chairman, president and CEO. Advocates of open voter registration rights for full-time RVers came up with little more than a handful of air in Congress’ efforts to prevent a repeat of the 2000 election debacle. The question of full-timers voting rights arose in Livingston, Texas, the headquarters of the 30,000-member Escapees RV Club. A Polk County commission candidate challenged the right of 9,000 Escapees members to vote absentee. All were registered to vote in Livingston and received mail there. A 49-year-old German tourist visiting a Canadian campground was attacked for no apparent reason by a thug who bashed him on the back of the head with a hatchet. Dana Corp. announced today (Oct. 29) it plans to sell its Tekonsha Engineering Co. and Theodore Bargman Co. subsidiaries, both suppliers to the towable RV sector, to The Riverside Co., a leveraged buyout firm. Exhibit space for the 40th Annual National RV Trade Show scheduled for Dec. 3-5 in Louisville has sold out, according to the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), sponsors of the event.
