Highline motorcoach manufacturer Marathon Coach Corp., Coburg, Ore., is “optimistic but cautious” about the market for 2003, Executive Vice President Steve Schoellhorn told the Register-Guard of Eugene, Ore.
“There’s still some question marks about the economy,” Schoellhorn said in explaining the company’s outlook.
Marathon, which believes it is the largest converter of Prevost bus chassis, achieved almost $90 million in sales revenue in 2002, Schoellhorn said. That sales level was “steady,” not record-setting, he added.
The company employs 375 people in Coburg and its coaches retail for $900,000 to $1.6 million, with the average selling price being about $1 million.
Marathon also operates sales and service centers in Texas and Florida.
