RVers Taking Safe Driving Seriously

Attendance at the Good Sam VIP RV Safety Rally this week in Palm Springs, Calif., seems to indicate RVers take safe driving seriously .
The first safety rally session began Sunday (Jan. 26) and concludes Wednesday (Jan. 29). The second session will begin Wednesday and conclude on Saturday (Feb. 1).
It still is possible to register for the second session.
The training is being hosted by Affinity Group Inc. (AGI), parent of the Good Sam Club, along with GMAC Insurance.
Good Sam VIP is a full-coverage vehicle insurance program offered to Good Sam members by GMAC Insurance.
Registration for the safety rally costs $249 plus $124.50 for each spouse, companion, friend or family member that participates. There also is a $12 per night per rig fee for dry camping for three nights during the rally.
The safety rally includes hands-on driving and classroom instruction. The driving includes maneuvering an RV along serpentine curves, passing, parking, off-shoulder skid recovery. backing, hand signals, safe turns and how to hitch and unhitch a fifth-wheel or travel trailer.
There also will be instruction on how RV owners can make sure their rigs are ready to go.
