Enrollment for RVST Distance Learning Open

Enrollment is open for the third curriculum of the RV Service Technician Distance Learning program beginning the week of Sept. 14. Up to 250 dealer sites nationwide are expected to participate and provide more than 1,000 technicians the latest and best in RV service training. High Gas Prices Not Hurting RV Sales

Gasoline prices soared to a near-record $2.09 a gallon in California’s San Joaquin Valley as of Tuesday (Aug. 26), but the high prices have not hurt RV sales, Fresno, Calif.-based dealer Paul Evert told The Fresno Bee. “People are so used to prices going up and down, they just weather it,” the owner of Paul Evert’s RV Country told the newspaper. “They (consumers) know that right after (Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1), prices will start going down,” said Evert, who has been selling RVs for... Read more

There are five Partners in Progress meetings scheduled in conjunction with the 2003 RV Dealers International Convention/Expo, Sept. 30-Oct. 3, at the Rio All-Suite Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Partners in Progress meetings provide dealers a forum to discuss brand-specific issues with top management from participating manufacturers. Ron DiMenna, founder and owner of Florida-based Ron Jon Surf Shop chain, is a footloose fellow according to The Register-Guard of Eugene, Ore. And now, he’s doing his traveling in an eye-opening, custom-made $500,000 motorhome created by a team of Eugene-area RV experts that DiMenna pulled together. Wayne Mertes, 67, founder of the predecessor to National RV Inc., has resigned from the National RV Holdings Inc. Board of Directors. Mertes’ voluntary resignation from the board came less than one month after he resigned as president of Perris, Calif.-based National RV Inc. Gamel’s Sales Up 67% in July

Multi-location California dealership Dan Gamel’s RV Center reports its sales revenue during July was up 67% when compared with July 2002. The company, which has locations in central and northern California, also reports its sales revenue during the first seven months of this year was up 27% when compared with the same portion of last year. Cleveland-based banking company National City Corp. is motoring its RV and marine lending business across the country in an effort to triple the unit’s revenue and market share in the next five years.
