La Mesa RV, the multilocation dealership company with stores in San Diego and San Bernardino, Calif., is helping Southern California fire victims by donating motorhomes or travel trailers they can for one week.
La Mesa has partnered with several San Diego-area campgrounds that are providing sites for the RVs while they are being used by fire victims. The participating campgrounds are: Campland On The Bay; De Anza Harbor Resort and Chula Vista RV Resort.
“We are also working with other partner campgrounds in the San Bernardino area to help alleviate some of the suffering in that area and will announce our plans shortly,” said Jim Kimbrell, La Mesa’s founder and CEO.
“We want to be a great community citizen and offer the ability to put people in shelter out of harm’s way,” Kimbrell added.
Some employees of La Mesa’s Southern California dealerships have lost their homes in the fires, he said.
Le Mesa has other locations in northern California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington and Utah.
Fire victims interested in the La Mesa program should contact Jannine Tejada at (858) 874-8000 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time Monday-through-Friday or Dale Smallwood at (800) 874-8000 on Saturday or Sunday.
People wanting the use of a La Mesa RV will need to go to a La Mesa location to be assigned a vehicle and camping space.
