Canada-based Home & Park Motorhomes has added to its 2006 lineup with the RoadTrek RS Adventurous, a van camper built on an imported Mercedes-Benz powered Dodge Sprinter chassis. Other RoadTrek B-van floorplans are offered on Chevy Express vans. “We’ve taken the RoadTrek concept – openness, a wider aisle and extra windows – and built them into a Sprinter,” said Paul Cassidy, sales director for the Kitchener, Ont., manufacturer. The 21-foot 10-inch RoadTrek RS Adventurous features four driver and passenger seats that swivel around to serve as dinette seating plus three large driver-side and two passenger-side windows. Other amenities include an enclosed bath with a Thetford marine toilet, solid surface countertops and stainless steel sinks. With a base retail of $73,000, the 10,040-pound GVWR Class B motorhome is powered by a 2.7 liter, 5-cylinder, 154-hp turbocharged CDI Mercedes Benz diesel engine that gets an estimated 21-24 miles per gallon. A second Sprinter-based RoadTrek floorplan is under development.
