Employees of Junction City, Ore., motorhome builder Country Coach Inc. contributed cash and food donations during a charity drive that will allow for the distribution of over 135,000 pounds of food to the local community.
Participating in the Third Annual Food Drive to Benefit Junction City Local Aid, Country Coach workers formed five teams to collect food and cash donations over a four-week period.
The company said contributions, which totaled $21,658 in cash and 5,187 pounds of food, will supply the charity’s needs for 7-8 months.
The Country Coach winning team collected 574 pounds of food and raised $4,766. As one dollar will equip Local Aid to distribute six pounds of food, the winning team’s contest total was 29,170 pounds of food.
In addition, Country Coach offered a dollar per pound matching incentive for up to $5,000.
“After the last two years’ of amazing participation, we knew that we’d need to work harder and dig deeper if we were to top those donations,” said Matt Howard, director of marketing and public relations.
