Canada-based Leisure Travel Vans (1999) Ltd. has introduced the 2006 Freedom II Serenity B-plus-style motorhome on a Dodge Sprinter cab chassis built by Mercedes Benz in Germany. With a body constructed of two pieces of molded fiberglass and a steel roll cage bonded to the roof, the 23-foot Freedom II Serenity features 6’3” ceilings – affording about three inches more headroom – and is about two feet longer than Leisure Travel’s standard Sprinter-based Free Spirit 210 van camper. The Freedom II Serenity is powered standard by a turbocharged, 2.7 liter 154-hp Mercedes Benz diesel engine that provides the coach with 22 miles per gallon of fuel, according to the company. “You still get the performance, handling and reliability of a Mercedes Benz, plus the mileage of a diesel engine,” said Leisure Vans President and General Manager John Pauls. “It has all the qualities of the B-van, but it is one size bigger.”
