Statistical Surveys Inc. has revised downward motorized sales for October, noting that some Class A units were double counted. The Grand Rapids, Mich., firm also said Class C totals improved slightly based on additional data.
As a result, October motorhome retail sales declined 16.2% from a year ago while registrations were down 8.7% for the first 10 months. Previously reported sales showed a 6% drop for the month and 7.7% dip through October.
Revised Class A sales fell 21.4% in October and were down 12.1% year-to-date. Previously, Statistical Surveys reported contractions in the A market of 6.5% in October and a 10.6% for the first 10 months.
Class C sales were revised upward, showing a 2.3% drop versus a 4.6% decline while sales were 1.7% behind last year compared with 1.9%, as previously reported.
