Fan-Tastic Vent Founder Struck Retires
David C. Struck, co-founder and corporate vice president of Michigan supplier Fan-Tastic Vent Corp., has announced his retirement, effective June 1.
Struck, a 45-year industry veteran, founded the Imlay City-based firm in 1984 along with his business partner, Stephen A. Milks. The two turned Fan-Tastic into one of the most recognized air exchange systems in the recreational and commercial vehicle industries.
In 2001, Fan-Tastic Vent reached a benchmark with the sale of its 1 millionth fan.
Milks passed away in March of this year.
“(Struck and Milks) built their global business on mutual trust and respect of their associates and diverse customer base,” according to a corporate release. “Mr. Struck will stay on as a consultant to Fan-Tastic Vent.”
Struck, who worked for Champion Home Builders for 24 years before founding Fan-Tastic Vent, was a board member of the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) and the Michigan Association of Recreational Vehicles and Campgrounds (MARVAC). He played a key role in merging the Recreational Vehicle Institute (RVI) and the Trailer Coach Association (TCA) into RVIA and was the last past president to lead RVI.
