RVDA Canada Works to Recruit RV Personnel

The board of directors of the Recreation Vehicle Dealers (RVDA) of Canada has taken several steps to help recruit qualified workers to the RV industry. “One of the main areas of concentration has been that of dealership recruitment,” wrote H. Wayne Hambly, RVDA of Canada president, in the association’s 2006 edition of The RV Compass, its annual publication. Outlook Breakfast Touts Industry Optimism

Motorhome sales are slipping, towables are not, and overall the RV industry continues to grow, according to today’s (Nov. 29) South Bend, Ind., Tribune. That was the message Tuesday from Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) President Richard Coon at the National RV Trade Show at the Kentucky Exposition Center. The Domani, a concept fifth-wheel trailer incorporating both marine and automotive influences from Carriage Inc., Millersburg, Ind., is on display this week for the first time at the 44th Annual National RV Trade Show at the Kentucky Exposition Center, Louisville, Ky. Newmar Corp. has added full-wall slideout floorplans to its Dutch Star diesel and Canyon Star (pictured) gas Class A motorhome series for 2007. “These floorplans give the consumers more living space and more of a residential-style feel in their motorhome,” said John Sammut, vice president of sales and marketing, for the Nappanee, Ind., firm. N.J. Park Trailer Market Faces Tough Regs

The recreational park trailer industry is coming off its second best year in history but with an eye on pending government regulation that would threaten future sales in one of its top 10 markets. Coon: Quality Task Force Findings Due for ’07

Fifth-wheel manufacturer Peterson Industries Inc. is introducing a 750-pound capacity hydraulic lift that carries motorcycles, golf carts or other toys on the outside of Excel coaches.
