Interior furnishing supplier Decorator Industries reported a net loss for its fourth quarter, contributing to a decline in earnings for the fiscal year ended Dec. 30.
Net income for the year was $0.4 million compared with $1.4 million the previous year while sales increased 3% to $52.2 million from $50.5 million.
For the quarter, the Pembroke, Fla.-based company reported a net loss of $0.3 million versus net income of $0.4 million the year prior. Sales for the three-month period fell to $10.6 million from $12.2 million.
The company said RV sales improved for the full year despite a decrease in the fourth quarter.
“Sales to our RV customers for fiscal 2006 were $30.8 million, an increase of about 7% from fiscal 2005,” said Chairman William Bassett. “RV sales for the fourth quarter were $6 million, compared with $7 million in the prior year period. Almost all of this decrease was due to the absence of any FEMA-related sales in this year’s fourth quarter.”
