DeMartini RV Sales’ new operation in Grass Valley, Calif., should open shortly after the first of the year, according to a report in The Union.
Workers are expected to finish up air-conditioning installation, ceiling work and cleanup of the DeMartini showroom’s polished concrete in the next two weeks, longtime Grass Valley business owner Tim DeMartini said Thursday (Dec. 20).
“This will be one of the finest RV stores in California,” DeMartini said.
The new 28,800-square-foot building will be a vast improvement over the existing sales building in Grass Valley, which DeMartini said the company simply outgrew.
“We couldn’t move the vehicles in and out easily,” DeMartini said.
The new operation, featuring a short, winding entryway, allows for the display of two to three times more recreational vehicles than the former sales facility, DeMartini said.
Nine service bays, a showroom with room for three to four 45-foot-long recreational vehicles and a spacious outdoor lot that can handle 200 vehicles will greet customers once the new business opens, DeMartini said.
DeMartini RV Sales plans to hire about 10 more employees, bringing its staffing up to around 40 at the new operation, DeMartini said.
The Grass Valley City Council approved the project by a 3-2 vote in March 2006. It came after nearly two years of meetings regarding the project’s design. Some concerns were expressed about the building’s roof, architecture and color.
