RVIA Readies for Annual Meeting in Hawaii

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued recall notices for the following products related to the recreational vehicle industry: • 1,877 of Monaco Coach Corp.’s (2006-2007) Holiday Rambler, (2007) Monaco Diplomat and (2006) Monaco Coach Diplomat Class A motorhomes with AM Equipment wiper system assemblies. Changes to RV Friendly Initiative Proposed

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has begun the final rule-making process on the RV industry’s RV Friendly initiative. For the past three years, the program has existed under an interim FHWA rule, allowing the RV Friendly logo – a bright yellow circle 12 inches in diameter with the black letters “RV” in the middle – to be placed on information panels of businesses that self-certify their compliance with various criteria for parking, turning radius and vertical clearance. Dealer Paul Parker, president of P and L of Malta Inc., dba Northway Travel Trailers in Malta, N.Y., expects to close the dealership’s doors by the first part of April. “It’s just the times,” Parker said. “We’ve lost money for the last two years.
