Camping World/FreedomRoads announced that Chairman and CEO Marcus Lemonis received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2008 Award in the emerging entrepreneur category of the Midwest regional program.
According to Ernst & Young LLP, the award recognizes “outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses.” Lemonis was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a June 26 event at the Hilton Chicago.
“Most people think I am the one who takes risk but really it’s the employees taking a risk on me,” Lemonis said. “I’m honored and humbled to receive this award.”
The Camping World/FreedomRoads national network boasts nearly 4,000 employees and is comprised of Camping World RV Sales, aftermarket accessory stores including service and collision centers, and most recently RV rentals.
In addition to the national RV dealer network, there are over 80 Camping World stores. Lemonis has been leading the integration of the Camping World RV Sales with retail accessory stores to form one national brand since 2006.
As a Midwest award winner, Lemonis is now eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year national program, which is marking its 22nd anniversary this year.
