Heartland Recreational Vehicles LLC, Elkhart, Ind., offers two versions of its new “extended stay” wood-and-aluminum destination trailer – the 8 1/2-foot-wide 2009 Cedar Ridge and the more economical 8-foot-wide Cedar Ridge XLT. Each is available in three 43- to 45-foot floorplans that offer multiple options for a second bedroom. The king-bed Cedar Ridge is equipped with either a front or rear cap with bay windows, depending on the location of the living room. Amenities include residential furniture and appliances that include free-standing ranges, porcelain sinks, large cabinets and full-size showers. “People who spend all summer in a destination trailer don’t want small RV appliances and furniture,” said Steve Lidy, Heartland director of marketing. “They want the same feel that they get at home.” Cedar Ridge MSRP, $36,968. The Heartland trailer will be featured in the March issue of RVBusiness magazine as part of an in-depth article by Senior Editor Bob Ashley on the emerging trend toward destination camping. RVBUSINESS.com will be featuring several destination units over the next few weeks.
