Chrysler LLC filed for bankruptcy protection today (April 30)  and will form an alliance with the Italian carmaker Fiat Group SpA in an effort to revive the nation’s ailing third-largest automaker, according to The Associated Press. Coachworks Holdings Inc., Fort Valley, Ga., has shut down production of luxury Blue Bird Wanderlodge buses and is selling off assets, according to a reliable source. Coachworks Holdings declined comment. Newmar Corp. continues its market share growth in the Class A RV market that has declined 59% in retail registrations, the Nappanee, Ind.-based manufacturer noted in a news release. KVH Industries Inc. has announced major price cuts for its TracVision satellite TV systems for the RV industry. The price reduction applies to all of KVH’s 12″ high TracVision satellite TV systems. Since Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on March 10, the Riverside, Calif.-based RV maker indicated that securing financing was vital to its survival.
