Editor’s Note: Robert W. Baird & Co. issued this client note on Tuesday (Dec. 29) following the release of the November wholesale report by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA). Pasadena Tightens Security for Rose Parade RVers

Ever since the Sept.  11 terrorist attacks in 2001, teams of volunteers and police officers have monitored the dozens of RVs that line the 5 1/2-mile Rose Parade route in Pasadena, Calif. On Tuesday (Dec. 29), that program, called “Parade Watch,” officially kicked off. Jimmy Crain, a pioneer South Carolina RV dealer and campground owner, is a man of many careers and few regrets. TriMas Corp. Gains New 3-Year Lending Facility

TriMas Corp. announced Tuesday (Dec. 29) that it entered into a new accounts receivable facility with Wachovia Bank NA. The  new facility, which has a three-year term, provides committed funding of up to $75 million. The new accounts receivable facility provides a source of liquidity for the company at a cost of funds equal to the three-month LIBOR (currently approximately 0.25%) plus a spread ranging from 2.75% to 3.50% (currently 3.25%) on amounts drawn under the facility. Country Coach Inc. Asset Auction Starts on Feb. 4

Troubled RV maker Country Coach Inc. has announced it will begin auctioning off its assets in the new year. The announcement comes after a federal bankruptcy court ruling. The court ordered Junction City, Ore.-based Country Coach to auction off all its assets, including debtor-owned equipment, inventory and furnishings. The auction is set for Feb. 4 at Country Coach. Editor’s Note: The Thompson Research Group (TRG) issued this “snapshot” of the RV industry following today’s release of the November wholesale RV shipments by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA). November RV Shipments Continue Upward Trend

Year-over-year wholesale shipments of towable and motorized RVs increased for the fourth consecutive month in November, although year-to-date they still lag 2008 orders from dealers by nearly a third, according to the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA). Led by a 161.5% increase in fifth-wheel shipments — 3,400 units this year compared to 1,300 units last year — overall, dealers ordered 13,700 units in November, representing a 140% increase over the November 2008. SBA Lending Programs Gets 2-Month Extension

Several federal initiatives to make Small Business Administration (SBA) loans more affordable, more flexible and more appealing to banks and businesses have been extended for two months after the program ran out of money because of its success. New legislation signed last week by President Obama includes $125 million to maintain the enhancements for SBA lending under this February’s $780 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, or ARRA, according to the Buffalo (N.Y.)
