NTP Distribution recently announced the opening of its fifth distribution center, located in Austell, Ga. It is slated to begin shipping products in March, according to a news release.
“The Atlanta region has been a strategic goal for NTP,” said Greg Boyd, president of the Wilsonville, Ore.-based distributor. “The new Austell distribution center gives us the capabilities we need to continue to provide best-in-class logistics services across the country. Such an expansion will enable NTP to better service our existing dealers as well as invite many new dealers to experience our high fill rates, late same-day shipping cutoff times and our exceptional staff who provide great customer service.”
The new facility is located at 7515 Hartman Industrial Way in Austell, an Atlanta suburb. NTP will begin to stock the 64,000-square-foot facility with product in early 2010 and will commence shipping in March.
“Opening NTP’s distribution center in the Southeast is the realization of a goal that one year ago seemed a long way off,” said Mark Jenson, vice president of sales and marketing for NTP. “During 2009, we felt strongly that NTP’s message of inventory control, operational efficiency, and technological innovation that we’ve brought to our customers for years was going to receive even greater receptiveness than in the past. Our ability to gain market share during this downturn is proof of that. With our Austell facility and addition of outside sales staff in the region, we look forward to helping more dealerships improve their parts operations.”
