Landmark legislation that establishes a multi-million dollar, public-private partnership to promote the United States as a premier travel destination and better explain travel security policies to foreign travelers gained final passage by a strong bipartisan vote of 78 to 18 in the Senate Thursday (Feb. 25). The RV Learning Center is now accepting applications for its 2010-2011 scholarship program, according to a release from the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA). The RV Learning Center scholarship program awards $2,500 scholarships to deserving college sophomore, junior, and senior undergraduate students majoring in business, finance, economics, accounting or other RV related subjects. RVIA: January Wholesale Shipments Up 116%

Wholesale shipments to retailers of all RVs were reported at 15,800 units in the January 2010 survey of manufacturers, more than twice the total from this same month last year. The owner of Cedars Golf Course announced a project Thursday (Feb. 25) to gradually turn the Volunteer Parkway facility into a massive camping, parking, hotel and retail complex that would work in tandem with the nearby Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn.
