Apex travel trailerViking RV, Centreville, Mich., has introduced the new Apex ultra lightweight travel trailer. “However, lightweight doesn’t mean light on quality,” said Viking general manager Gar Warlick. “The Apex is a solid, durable unit with aluminum framed vacuum bonded sidewalls and roof, and even a vacuum bonded floor.  All of the floorplans include a front window, a feature most manufacturers have eliminated for cost savings. The Apex features an optional aluminum chassis specifically engineered for Viking by Rance Aluminum Trailers of Elkhart. Rance specializes in the manufacture of aluminum cargo trailers with GVWRs up to 9,900 pounds. “The customer can’t help but notice the shiny aluminum frame and realize the corrosion resistance aluminum provides for the long-term appearance of their Apex unit,” said Warlick. All of the trailers are built on double axles for optimum towing and have the Trailair Equi-Flex suspension system and aluminum alloy wheels standard. Apex also incorporates the Quick Bite Automatic coupler hitch for easier hook-ups for the first time buyer. Apex interiors feature a choice of Brazilian cherry or harmony white cabinetry with hidden hinges and three fabric choices. Amenities include large double stainless steel sinks with high rise faucets, full size double door refrigerators, thicker five-inch dinette cushions and upgraded queen mattresses. Lengths for the first four models begin at 18 feet 9 inches and continue to 24 feet, including two slideout floorplans. Minimum advertised pricing begins at $13,382. Dealers can contact Viking at (800) 368-2829.
