More than 100 RV technicians have registered for the next Trouble Shooter Clinic ( TSC), scheduled for March 8-12 at Ivy Tech Community College in Elkhart, Ind.

Registration numbers for TSCs held in the Elkhart area are traditionally high, but next week’s TSC marks the first time in three years that TSC registration has topped 100 technicians, according to a news release.

“Along with a six-month trend of increases in RV shipments, the fact that we’re seeing the highest number of technicians in three years attend our Trouble Shooter Clinic could be yet another sign that our industry is on an upswing,” said Bruce Hopkins, vice president of standards and education for the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA). “What a great way to wrap up the last TSC of fiscal year 2010.”

A total of 69 RV technicians attended the November 2009 Trouble Shooter Clinic at the Toronto Congress Center in Toronto, Ontario, and TSC participants continue to rate the clinics as some of the most comprehensive technical training events industrywide. Rick Doupe of Sicard Holiday Campers Ltd., said of the Toronto clinic, “The course was terrific. I really enjoyed the classes and I (and most of the crew) am hoping another TSC will be scheduled again soon. You provide real world training for real world techs.”

Trouble Shooter Clinics offer RV service technicians the opportunity to enhance performance and profitability by improving their hands-on technical knowledge. Participants learn to quickly diagnose and correct malfunctions in all major systems found in today’s recreation vehicles. Attendance at the clinic fulfills the continuing education requirement for those technicians seeking recertification.

RVIA will release the locations and dates for the FY2011 Trouble Shooter Clinics this summer.
