Bish’s RV in Pocatello, Idaho, expects this to be their top selling year in over five years.
Nationally, since RV sales dipped in 2007, experts say 2010 will be the first year RV sales are expected to rebound, and eastern Idaho seems to be no exception, according to KPVI-TV, Pocatello.
On both Friday and Saturday, Bish’s Pocatello location sold five RVs — the month of May being their best month for sales in 2010. Bish’s RV sales professional Ryan Platt said they are already up 150% in sales from just last year.
Bish’s RV is giving away a truck valued at $40,000 next month to someone who purchased an RV in May, and this month they will be having a minute-to-win-it competition, and are giving away a free trailer … but beyond the give-aways, Platt attributes the increase of RV sales to the economy, but also to eastern Idaho recreation.
“It is exciting,” said Platt. “It shows us that people really want to get out and camp. You know, they’re not too worried about the economy. They just want to get out and have some fun.”
