While the Gulf Coast tourism market is feeling the financial crunch of the oil spill, some Alabama campgrounds are beginning to see some of those tourists set up camp in Covington County, according to the Andalusia (Ala.) Fishing Bridge RV Park, Yellowstone National Park. Electrical service at Fishing Bridge RV Park at Yellowstone National Park could be back this fall after Xanterra and the National Park Service came to an agreement over upgrades to the 40-year-old electrical system; some upgrades could be done later this year, with the rest completed for 2012, according to the Yellowstone Insider. Volunteers replace the roof on a teenage "safe house" in Tampa, Fla., over the weekend. Volunteers from Lazydays, an RV dealership in Seffner, Fla., and the city of Tampa Police Department teamed up Sunday (June 27)  to replace the old, leaking roof on the Resources in Community Hope (RICH) house, a local safe haven operated by the police department where kids can go after school to study and play in a safe, supervised environment, according to a news release. Gasoline prices continue to rise as vacationers in RVs and campers join commuters on the roads during the peak summer driving season, the Associated Press reported today (June 28). Pump prices likely will continue to increase over the next couple of weeks but fall short of $3 a gallon in most states. Analysts note that demand remains lackluster while supplies are ample. Allison to Make Hybrid Truck Drive Systems

Allison Transmission Inc. says it is investing more than $130 million to make drive systems for commercial hybrid trucks at a facility that will employ nearly 100 workers. The company says it is gutting a dormant Indianapolis plant and transforming it into a high-tech facility that, once fully operational, will be capable of producing 20,000 propulsion systems for hybrid vehicles with pick up and delivery, shuttle and utility applications, according to a news release. A majority of dealers responding to a Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) survey in June said their sales during the spring of 2010 were better, in some cases significantly better, than they were during the spring of 2009.
