Dixie RV SuperStores, Hammond, La., the state’s largest RV dealership, has expanded to a second location, Defuniak Springs, Fla. A grand opening set for August.

The dealership’s sales and service department have been open for business for well over a month, with RV sales operating out of a temporary sales office until the main building is finished construction, according to a news release.

Open since 1983, Dixie RV SuperStores carries Fleetwood, Heartland, Jayco, Keystone, Tiffin, Newmar, Forest River, American Coach, Prime Time and Starcraft products.

Owner Greg Lala said he had been looking for an opportunity to expand his dealership when he came across the Defuniak Springs location, which is conveniently located off the highly trafficked Interstate 10 in Florida. After much demographic and market research, he finally decided to jump on the opportunity.

“The property has an added benefit because of its close proximity to one of the highest used thoroughfares for RVers and has provided us with the ability to attract travelers in every direction,” said Lala.

The new Florida facility covers 21 acres and will include not only a large service department with eight service bays, but a large parts and accessories department, convenience store and RV-friendly gas pumps for Interstate travelers.

A basic fact that you should be aware of before making a RV cover purchase is that these covers should not be 100% waterproof.

If you go in for service at the DeFuniak store, you’d better have very deep pockets and lots of time. Their hourly rate is much higher than other recognised shops and they are in no hurry . I would rather drive an extra few miles and save time and money.
