Vision Dealers Auction, a business-to-business website that caters to the RV and automotive industries and allows dealers to sell inventory to each other on a wholesale basis, is opening its site for 10 days to allow the public to buy through auction and buy-it-now sales at the same prices dealers do.

The auction will be opened to the public July 8-18, according to a news release.

Joyce Dillingham, vice president of marketing for Vision Dealers Auction, talked with participating dealers about opening the site to the public before putting the campaign in motion. She said the dealers were unanimous, all agreeing that the added exposure of their inventory to potential buyers is always positive.

There are currently over 100 open auctions on the website and more are being added daily. A sample of inventory showed:

  • A 2006 Jayco Jayflight 27BH that had a current bid of $2,375.
  • A 2007 handicap-accessible 38-foot park model trailer with a current bid of $1,000 or a buy-it-now price of $8,200.

Both of these models qualify for the company’s special delivery program where the seller will deliver to the buyer anywhere in the continental U.S. for $500.

Also listed were:

  • A diesel pusher with a current bid of $37,135.
  • A  53-foot car carrier for $4,000.
  • Single listings and bulk lots of 10 to 20 travel trailers formerly owned by FEMA.

Dillingham added, “Private parties will be required to register on the site, but it’s completely free. Also, we’ve waived the transaction fee (typically $250) for all private party transactions during the sale period. It’s really a win- win opportunity for everyone, especially those families who are yearning to get outdoors and go camping this summer. There’s still time and hopefully this will help them find a great buy on the RV of their dreams.”
