Everything was coming together today (Aug. 12) for the 55th Annual Midwest RV Super Show which for the first time is being held in downtown Elkhart, Ind.
Ten RV dealers from northern Indiana are showing between 120 and 140 model year 2010 and 2011 RVs at the three-day show, which opens at 10 a.m. Friday and runs through Sunday.
The show covers approximately 70,000 square feet on city-owned property.
“We filled up the space allotted,” said Mark Bowersox, executive director of the Indiana Manufactured Housing Association-Recreation Vehicle Indiana Council (IMHA-RVIC), the show sponsor.
Bowersox hopes for a crowd in excess of 7,000 to attend the show, which was not held in 2009 due to the slumping economy.
“There is a certain excitement just being in Elkhart and, hopefully, a certain draw,” he said. “Elkhart and RVs are syonomous.”
The show has a local flavor as most of the RVs on display were built in or near Elkhart County, Bowersox noted.
The participating dealers are:
- Camp-Land, Burns Harbor.
- Great Lakes RV Center, Elkhart.
- Elkhart RV Sales, Middlebury.
- Indiana RV Connection, Middlebury.
- International RV World, Elkhart.
- Showhauler, Middlebury.
- The Outpost RV, Middlebury.
- The RV Center, Columbia City.
- Total Value RV, Elkhart.
- Wana RV Center, Shipshewana.
Show hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
