King’s Campers, Wausau, Wis., has announced that all inventory tags will now have a two-dimensional scanable code printed on each tag. This code has been put in place to help customers with “smart phones” to access more detailed information about the RV they are interested in through a free QR Reader application, according to a news release.

“Technology is taking our world in fantastic new directions. We are now able to reach our customers at all times of the day or night whether or not we are closed,” said Janice Skidmore, King’s Campers’ brand manager. “It’s very easy to do: a customer with a ‘smart phone’ can scan a code directly from the tag on the RV he or she is interested in. This code will direct the customer straight to that RV as it is posted on King’s Campers’ website. Thus the customer can read detailed information about that camper, see many photos of that camper, and can also view a drawing of the floor plan. This will help the customer who visited our lot during non-business hours; he or she will be able to find out pertinent information even if a sales team member is not present.”

John Gajewski, King’s Campers’ sales manager, added, “At King’s Campers, we always aim to give the highest level of care possible at all times. This free application is just one more way for us to do the best job we can.”

The QR Reader application is a free download that is also free to use and can be found on several websites relating to “smart phones.” One of these codes accompanies this story.

King’s Campers sells KZ, Salem, Open Range, Tiffin and Winnebago brands and services all RV makes and models. King’s Campers has been locally owned and operated since 1990.

    This is terrific!
The Japanese have done this for some time and it is a very sensible idea. I hope more manufactures and dealers move to using this system.
