Richard Curtin Scales Back ’10, ’11 Forecasts

Today in Louisville University of Michigan Economist Richard Curtin’s latest forecast for 2010 and 2011 wholesale shipments have been scaled back from his most recent forecast, published in September. Curtin forecasts wholesale RV shipments to finish 2010 at 236,700 units, a 43% increase over the 165,700 units shipped in 2009. Growth is expected to slow in the U.S. recreation vehicle industry after a strong rebound in 2010, the Wall Street Journal reported. Go RVing Announces $11M 2011 Media Plan

Anticipated growth in recreation vehicle production will enable Go RVing to invest one-third more in advertising in 2011, further boosting the momentum of the RV industry recovery, according to a news release.
