Bill Plemmons RV World announced today (Dec. 29) the opening of its fourth North Carolina dealership. The new store, which coincides with the company’s 60th anniversary celebration, is located in Mocksville and, according to owner Steve Plemmons, will feature a full line of towable and motorized RVs.

Founded by the late Bill Plemmons in 1951 in Winston-Salem, the original dealership eventually relocated to Rural Hall. The company also operates dealership locations in Salisbury, to cover the Charlotte market, and Raleigh.

“We’re proud to honor our company’s 60th Anniversary with the addition of our fourth location in Mocksville,” said Plemmons, who first went to work at the dealership at age 8, policing the grounds, and acquired full ownership of the family-owned business in 2004. “This location allows us to service our universe of customers more towards the west conveniently.”

The Mocksville location is the third dealership opened by Plemmons in what has otherwise been a bleak economic era for RV retailers.

“Since 2007 — and while in a downturn economic condition — Bill Plemmons RV World has successfully expanded from one to four locations and has increased from a base of 55 employees to a current 87 and still growing,” Plemmons noted in a release. “That’s a 58% growth in employment, which we believe is our small part in helping those communities with jobs.”

Bill Plemmons RV World sells and services both towable and motorized RVs and represents nearly 100 RV model brands overall. For more information, visit
