DIRECTUS, a Tatmar Technologies company based in Linden, Mich., and industry leader in 12-volt automotive and mobile electronics, has announced the appointment of MITO Corp. as the exclusive partner for the award winning Prodigy One system for  the RV, marine, school bus, transit bus, tour bus, specialty vehicle, custom golf cart, van conversion and linousine industries.

With this appointment, MITO will begin supplying DIRECTUS Prodigy One systems to several RV manufactures and OEM specialty customizers throughout North America, according to a news release.

The Prodigy Series of systems is the first multifunctional automotive grade plug and play device that brings navigation, safety, connectivity and entertainment into one device, utilizing the capable Windows CE operating system.  The Prodigy One allows users to have a single navigation, media and information source within a small, compact unit that integrates easily into many OEM and entertainment aftermarket radio or mirror display systems that are standard equipment on recreational vehicles.

“Joining forces with MITO Corp. is another huge strategic partnership for DIRECTUS,” said DIRECTUS CEO Brad Chapple.  “This is a whole new industry vertical for DIRECTUS and having a partner like MITO who has been a leading supplier and has a long standing history in this market is a great move for all.”

DIRECTUS released the Prodigy One Series at the 2010 SEMA show, winning the coveted “SEMA Best New Mobile Electronics Product” award for 2011.

“Prodigy One will bring a whole new level of functionality to RV customers that want to add features and functionality that have not been available within the RV industry in the past,” stated Chapple.

“We are proud to be aligned with such an innovative product line for our industry,” said Dan Maloney, vice president of sales at MITO. “DIRECTUS will provide many sought after solutions including multiple touch screen monitors allowing the copilot full control of the navigation system.”
