SSI: Class B Sales Drop 40% in First Quarter

Class B motorhome or camper van sales were down 24% for March compared to 2010, and fell 40.3% for the first quarter, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI).

Roadtrek Motorhomes Inc. retained its commanding lead in Class B sales, owning a 51.1% market share for the first quarter. Fellow Canadian builder Pleasure-Way Industries Ltd. was second with a 26.2% market share.

Thor Industries Inc. was the top U.S. manufacturer, capturing a 14.5% market share for the first three months.
