Canadian Motorhome Sales Drop 9.6% in April
Year-over-year motorhome sales in the Canadian marketplace dropped 9.6% in April and were down 17.3% for the first four months.
According to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), Class A sales declined 13.6% for the month and 23.2% for year-to-date. Through April, Fleetwood RV Inc. was the leader in Class A sales with a 17.8% market share while Thor Industries Inc. captured a 17.1% share.
Class C sales edged down 2.9% in March and 6.8% for the first four months. Year-to-date, Forest River Inc. led the category with a 20.8% market share followed by Jayco Inc. at 18.8% and Forest River subsidiary Coachmen RV with an 18.2% share.
SSI noted that the provinces of British Columbia, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland were delayed.
