Positive Outlook After Dusseldorf’s RV Show
With the current economic climate threatening the motorhome and caravan markets, the Caravan Salon Dusseldorf has reported increased visitor numbers and better-than-expected sales figures, suggesting a promising year ahead.
Motorhome News reported that 179,000 visited last week’s show in Germany, smashing the show’s expectations of around 160,000 visitors. The show has reported that visitors came from around the globe and that 62% came with specific intentions to buy.
This positivity is backed by exhibitors with many reporting increased show sales. Giovanni Marcon, chairman of the board at Knaus Tabbert (the manufacturer returning to the UK this year) said, “Sales volume overall has risen considerably with a clear improvement in favor of motorhomes.”
With the annual indoor show considered a barometer for the coming year, this positive response should be particularly encouraging to motorhome manufacturers and dealers.
The next Caravan Salon Dusseldorf will take place Aug. 25 to Sept. 2, 2012.
