A drop in year-over-year Canadian Class A retail sales pulled down overall motorhome registrations in July, as the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI) showed a 9.2% decline for the month and 15.6% decrease for the first seven months
Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader through July, capturing a 27.7% market share, followed by Winnebago Industries Inc. (17.3%) and Thor Industries Inc. (15.1%).
July Class A registrations tumbled 26% from the year prior and were down 8.9% year-to-date. For the first seven months, Thor Industries Inc. was No. 1 in Canadian Class sales with a 19.1% market share, edging out Winnebago (17.6%) and Fleetwood RV Inc. (15.1%).
Class C sales rose 13.5% in July, but were down 20.7% year-to-date. For the seven months, Forest River held a commanding lead in the category with a 40.4% market share followed by Winnebago holding a 17% share.
