Sky River RV held a grand opening Nov. 16 at the dealership’s new store in Dublin, Calif., that included a ribbon cutting with the local Chamber of Commerce and a silent auction to benefit a non-profit educational development school for children.
The Dublin facility sports a three-plus acre showroom, including a 65,000 square-foot expansion, and over six acres of outdoor display space.
“It’s what you’d think an RV dealership should be like,” said Dave Cook, an RV consumer from Pleasanton, Calif. “It’s an interactive display with all types of product, everything is in full operation – lights on, TV’s on, music playing, and educational videos about the RV industry. It’s truly an RV shopper’s dream.”
Sky River RV reported the auction was a success for The School of Imagination and Happy Talkers in Dublin. “Sky River RV has a commitment to reach into and be an important part of the communities we operate in,” said Scott Thorpe, the store’s managing partner. “We were able to raise several thousand dollars with the help of other local merchants and the community for The School of Imagination.”
“This event was mutually beneficial for both of us,” said Chris Williams, marketing manager for Sky River RV. “We raised thousands of dollars for the School of Imagination and sold several units in the midst of the event. We also contracted a few others for our inside storage facility. Overall, it has been a great success for everyone involved.”
Sky River RV sells new and pre-owned RVs, representing major brands that include Keystone, Forest River, Monaco, Newmar, Skyline, Thor Motor Coach, Livin’ Lite, and Extreme Warrior.
“We have plans for continued growth in this store. A lot of people have worked very hard to bring this Dublin store to the market. We’re very pleased that it has already proven to be something special in the Bay Area,” said Thorpe.
Sky River RV operates a service and parts department in Livermore in addition to its full-service stores in Dublin, Paso Robles and Pismo Beach.
