Fran Connors recently moved into a new position as the general manager of the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta after serving since 1997 as supervisor on Philadelphia-based PR Agency Barton Gilanelli’s account with the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA).

Connors assumed his new role on Oct. 3 to manage the largest collegiate rowing regatta in North America. Held annually on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia each May, the 74-year old Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta features nearly 3,000 competitors from more than 100 universities and colleges, including representatives from such significant athletic conferences as the Big Ten, ACC, SEC, Big 12, Big East and Pac 12.

Last year, the regatta was broadcast live on the WPV-TVI, the ABC station in Philadelphia and streamed on

“This is a great opportunity for me to be associated with one of Philadelphia’s authentic traditions and premier sports events,” says Connors. “Nevertheless, I’ll miss working with RVIA and the many friends I’ve made throughout the industry during the past 14 plus years.”
