Keystone RV Co.’s Bullet ultralight travel trailers are now rolling off the production line at the Goshen, Ind.-based builder’s facility in Pendleton, Ore.
According to a press release, Bullet has seen strong market share growth in 2011, following its product launch in December of 2009. Keystone said that with a 48% market share gain, Bullet is one of the fastest growing laminated trailers of the top 40 brands and has climbed to No. 6 in retail sales of ultralight units, according to Statistical Surveys Inc. The Keystone Bullet also garnered its second consecutive DSI Award from the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) this past October.
Ramping up West Coast production will enable Bullet to further increase sales, according to Bullet product manager Brian Hyde. “By opening up production in Pendleton, Bullet is ideally positioned to meet the needs of our western dealers and their customers,” he said.
In addition to the new manufacturing facility in Oregon, Bullet is adding key features to the line, including new exterior graphics, a slideroom system that creates additional living space and several new floorplans. “One of the big changes that excites Bullet dealers is the launch of a Bullet ultralight fifth-wheel for half-ton buyers,” says Hyde. “We will be introducing our second fifth-wheel floorplan at Louisville. This floorplan features a bunkhouse bedroom with an incredible amount of storage.”
Keystone’s Pendleton facility today consists of four production lines and support facilities, totaling 203,000 square feet under roof. In addition to Bullet, the facility also produces Keystone Springdale, Passport, Hideout, Cougar and Energy travel trailers and fifth-wheels.
