Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales rose 12.3% in September, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), while registrations were down 8.7% for the first nine months.
Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader through September, capturing a 25.9% market share, followed by Winnebago Industries Inc. (16.8%) and Thor Industries Inc. (15.4%).
September Class A registrations gained 10.1% from the year prior and were down 2.2% year-to-date. For the first nine months, Thor was No. 1 in Canadian Class A sales with a 19.9% market share, edging out Winnebago (17.7%) and Fleetwood RV Inc. (14.7%).
Class C sales climbed 16.2% for the month, but fell 14.2% year-to-date. For the nine months, Forest River held a commanding lead in the category with a 39% market share followed by Winnebago holding a 16% share and Forest River’s Coachmen Industries Inc. with a 13.7% share.
