SSI: October Canadian Class A Sales Fall 24%

Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales fell 14.9% in October, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), while registrations were down 9.1% for the first 10 months.
Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader through October, capturing a 25.1% market share, followed by Winnebago Industries Inc. (16.9%) and Thor Industries Inc. (15.6%).
October Class A registrations dropped 24.4% from the year prior and were down 4.4% year-to-date. For the first 10 months, Thor was No. 1 in Canadian Class A sales with a 20.3% market share, ahead of Winnebago (17.8%) and Fleetwood RV Inc. (14.8%).
Class C sales climbed 17.9% for the month, but fell 13.3% year-to-date. For the 10 months, Forest River held a commanding lead in the category with a 38.6% market share followed by Winnebago (16%) and Forest River’s Coachmen Industries Inc. division (12%).
